In the dog house!

Nose super sensitive today. Aromas of rabbit, deer and maybe a whiff of fox while out walking this morning then I sniffed a plastic container full of mouldy pasta and steadfastly left it. A hundred yards later decided it was too good to waste so charged back, ignored Dad shouting ‘leave it’ and scoffed it all. Put on lead, frog marched home and in the ‘dog house’ for the whole day, so think its best to keep a low profile for a while. Must admit tummy is rumbling in a peculiar way tonight!

Darcy’s Diary w/c 10th February 2014

How is a dog supposed to celebrate Valentines day? This was weighing on my mind early in the week when all of a sudden my valentine, Nell, came dashing down the garden path and burst into the kitchen. Wow!! No one told me Nell was coming to visit. I knew she was on holiday staying at Obi’s house and I was really worried that she wouldn’t get my card but now it didn’t matter coz she was here. Obi is a black Labrador and he’s sort of related to Nell. What a great afternoon we had. We all went for a walk in the wind and the rain across the fields, splashing in the puddles and running through the mud. Not quite sure why but Mum kept saying “Oh, you filthy dogs”.

When we got home we all had a play in the kitchen and had a biscuit before Nell and Obi went home leaving me to have a sleep in front of the fire while Mum mopped the floor. What a great day!

We’ve had loads more rain and wind this week, until today. I woke up to a cold and frosty morning, I love rolling in frosty grass, and the sun has been shining all day, I even managed an hour in the sun having a snooze this afternoon! Let’s hope this is the start of things to come.

Hope you have and good week, and see you next time!

Darcy’s diary w/c 3rd February 2014

What a wet week…. Somerset is usually one of the best places to live. Lots of great walks, hills, woods, riverside and even the coast, either on the beach or the cliff tops. Over the last few weeks the walks haven’t been as much fun. There’s just too much water and mud even for me and my doggy pals. But most of us are lucky, we can still come home and have a good clean down and dry by the fire. Some of my other friends like the sheep and cows, have had their fields flooded now since Christmas and I just don’t know what they’re going to do!

We are all looking forward to some spring weather. I’ve decided the best way to spend stormy days is to take control of the sofa for the day and dream of what’s to come in a few weeks…. Maybe I can find some nice smelly badger or fox poo to have a good roll in! Always guaranteed to get me chased around the field by Mum shouting “You dirty smelly boy”. She tries to catch me, but let’s be honest, she hasn’t got a chance unless she brings out some treats to coax me back!

Hope you have a good week, see you next time!

PS. Don’t forget its Valentines Day on Friday…. I just hope my girlfriend, Nell, remembers!

What is all the fuss about? Find a stick on a walk, bring it home, leave it in garden for a couple of days to soften up in the rain, then take it into the lounge to chew in front of the fire. Seems like a perfect plan for a dog. It’s not my fault someone picked a cream carpet! Surprising how good Dad is with the Dyson when Mum is out!!

It was Dad’s birthday this week so he had a couple of extra days at home. The traditional trip to the pub followed and I helped finish off any unloved chips and anything that’s made it’s way to the floor. Love going to the pub!

Went to visit my little mate Denis this week. He’s 7 months old so still a puppy and gets very excited when we call in for a cuppa. His tail is not under full control and has been known to cause an accident or two! I try and play it cool to teach Denis how to behave when he has guests but he isn’t getting the message yet. He will coz’ he’s a clever little man.

Hope you have a good week. See you next time!

Darcy’s Diary w/c 20th January 2014

I’ve had a quiet few days after all the excitement of last week. The weather hasn’t helped, it seems to be raining everyday which has meant wet and muddy walks and washing before I can go back inside. But I’m quite lucky as some of my Somerset friends are stuck in their houses due to all the flooding.

I’ve been working with Mum on the new product range. We’ve got some new fabric samples and I’ve been picking out my favourites. I always pick red fabrics ‘coz that’s my favourite colour. Have a look at my photo and tell me which fabrics you would like to see in the next “Inspired by Darcy” range which I hope will be ready in the Spring.

We’ve also got some new products on the sewing table. I’ve been having a tug of war with Dad with one of the new sample oven gloves. They’re pretty tough, we were playing for ages before Mum told us both off for being naughty boys.

Hope you have a good week, see you next time!
